I'm participating for Based Africa because I believe in blockchain's transformative power to create a more equitable future for my Nigerian community. Having earned my first dollar in crypto as a freelance onchain analyst at Flipside Crypto, I've experienced firsthand the impact of accessible, reliable onchain data. Observing the struggles of beginner analysts and curious individuals to access such data has motivated me to contribute to a movement that democratizes onchain data. My goal is to empower individuals, regardless of their SQL expertise, to engage meaningfully with onchain data and drive positive change in our region.
I'm tackling the challenge of making onchain data more accessible to my community by simplifying how people can query and visualize onchain data. In Nigeria, the lack of user-friendly tools for onchain analysis limits opportunities for earning and personal research. With this app, I'm bridging the gap between technical expertise and everyday access to onchain data and insights.
My submission, 'Data Bud,' tackles the challenge of making onchain data more accessible by simplifying user interaction. The app allows users to ask questions in plain language, automatically generating SQL queries to retrieve relevant data. This significantly lowers the barrier for non-technical users who lack experience with SQL or data analysis but want to gain insights from onchain data. By making this data more accessible, 'Data Bud' empowers users, driving informed decision-making and enabling more people to harness the power of blockchain technology.
One significant challenge was the pricing model of the Flipside Crypto API. Unlike a pay-as-you-go option, Flipside Pro has a flat $200 monthly fee, which felt steep.
