damnedRoad is a simple web3-enabled digital products space. It's one display of conventional implementations turning Web3. Not very revolutionary, but it gives you a taste of how the future feels.
The problem damnedRoad solves
As I was running out of ideas to create breakthrough projects, the idea of damnedRoad popped up. Instead of creating something completely new and mindblowing, my angle here is to turn one already existing product and try to transition it into Web3. As the world turns more digital, the world begs for better implementations and systems. I believe decentralization responds directly to that.
damnedRoad creates a space where Creators can sell their digital products in a permissionless way. Creators can name, upload, price their products however they want, anytime, and anywhere (as long as they have internet connection).
Ultimately, the problem it solves: Help the efforts to transitioning into Web3 as the world is far from there yet. (Although thank you to WalletConnect and the partners for creating something beautiful with their products and spearheading with large steps towards the future)
Although damnedRoad is simple, I believe it's robust in its own usecase. Upload a product, Buy a product. Transact under a smart contract. Owkey!!
Challenges I ran into
Limited Technology and Knowledge.
The grey line in believing we still lack the technology or maybe I just lack the knowledge. I've tried to incorporate more Web3 as I can with what I know. I'm able to make payments blockchain centric and abstract Web3 terminologies a bit so it won't be a shocker and not too much to take in for the mass cause I believe that's one factor we're slowing down. The biggest problem I had was storage. I know right now that we have IPFS but it's clearly not there yet for supporting this type of implementation.
How I may have solved these problems: Researching more and asking ChatGPT (I just want to thank ChatGPT for teaching me how to create a smart contract yesterday.)
Generating Ideas.
I think of Ideas and when I search it, it's already existing. Although we can acknowledge that most of those solutions are not yet fully mature, I just don't have the time, energy, and knowledge to create something better and improve on those.
How I solved it: I pushed through in a different angle (as I believe)
Time
It was hard to find time to focus for my project due to my work and wasn't able to implement important features such as: Product Tagging, Sorting, etc.
Now we look at this product as a Pandora's Box of digital products and it's a bit reminiscent of something "gacha" but we may take it for the fun of it fow now, but
In the future, I Imagine damnedRoad to be efficient, build trust and be a reliable resource of online products. As time, technology, and knowledge become less scarce. We can improve on its functionalities, especially on storage too. Can't highlight the storage enough.
How I managed: Pull out a silly all nighter.

Cheering for a project means supporting a project you like with as little as 0.0025 ETH. Right now, you can Cheer using ETH on Arbitrum, Optimism and Base.
