Modern social media platforms encourage superficial interactions—users mindlessly like, comment, and move on without forming meaningful connections. Additionally, onboarding new users to Web3 is a complex and intimidating process, filled with technical jargon and barriers like wallet management and gas fees, which discourage mainstream adoption.
CySpace solves these issues by:
Incentivizing deeper social connections—users are rewarded based on how well they truly know their friends, fostering more meaningful engagement.
Seamlessly onboarding Web2 users into Web3 using an embedded wallet linked with Google Sign-in paired with gas sponsored account abstraction, eliminating the need for them to manage wallets, transactions, or minting.
Providing a familiar and engaging social media experience with a broad appeal, making Web3 adoption smoother and more intuitive.
Onboarding & Profile Setup
Users sign up using their Google account for seamless authentication.
After authentication, they choose a username and write a short bio, including hobbies, personality traits, and interests.
Social Media Interface
Once onboarded, users land on the main social media feed, where they can view posts from friends and interact with content.
Users can create two types of posts:
Pictures (standard social media posts)
Diaries (blog-like entries)
All posts are stored on the blockchain for transparency and ownership.
Personal Homespace
Users can enter their 3D Homespace, a virtual personal space where they can:
Update their pictures and diaries
Customize their environment
Visiting Another User’s Homespace
Clicking on a friend’s name takes users to a 3D model of their Homespace, which includes:
A Whiteboard – Visitors can draw on it, and the whiteboard state is stored on the blockchain, acting as proof of visit.
A Bookshelf – Contains the owner's diaries (blogs), allowing visitors to read their written content.
A 3D Model of the User – This AI-driven avatar is trained on the owner's personality and allows visitors to interact with it for conversations. Visitors can be quizzed by the agent on how well they know the individual, and the agent then has discretion as an evaluator to issue friend Soulbound NFTs, as well as give out tokens as rewards for being good friends.
By integrating blockchain storage and AI-driven interactions, CySpace enhances social media by creating deeper, more meaningful connections between users.
Core Components:
User Onboarding
CySpace leverages Okto for streamlined authentication, allowing users to sign up using their Google accounts.
This removes the complexity of handling wallets and private keys, ensuring a smooth Web2-friendly onboarding experience.
Social Media and Content Storage
Users can create and share posts, including pictures and diaries (blog-like entries).
Posts are stored in a decentralized manner using EthStorage and Walrus, ensuring data permanence and ownership.
On-Chain Infrastructure
CySpace operates on the Base blockchain, ensuring low-cost, scalable, and efficient transactions.
Interactions such as storing visit proofs, user-generated content, and AI-driven engagements are recorded securely on-chain.
Development Process:
Frontend: Built with a modern web stack to provide an intuitive and engaging UI.
Backend: Utilizes decentralized storage solutions and smart contracts for seamless Web3 interactions.
AI & Personalization: The user’s 3D avatar is enhanced with AI, trained on their personality, allowing for dynamic social interactions.
By integrating Web3 technologies with familiar Web2 experiences, CySpace bridges the gap between traditional social media and blockchain-based applications, making digital socialization more immersive and rewarding.
CySpace integrates several technologies and services to ensure a seamless, efficient, and user-friendly experience.
User Authentication & Wallet Management
Google Auth – Enables easy user login with Google accounts, ensuring a frictionless onboarding experience.
Okto – Handles wallet abstraction, allowing users to interact with Web3 features without managing private keys.
Content Storage & Blockchain Integration
EthStorage – General decentralized storage solution for storing user-generated content such as diaries (blogs) and photos.
Walrus - Utilized auto deletion based on Walrus epochs to create the temporary homespace whiteboard on-chain
Base – Layer 2 blockchain used for on-chain interactions, ensuring low-cost and scalable transactions for a high volume service like our social media.
AI-Driven Social Experience
Coinbase SDK AgentKit – Powers AI-driven 3D avatars that simulate user personalities and have access to minting, allowing visitors to engage in meaningful interactions and receive rewards.
Technology Stack
Frontend: React with TypeScript, providing a modern and interactive UI.
Backend: Node.js with Express.js, managing API requests and backend logic.
Database: Supabase, offering a scalable and efficient backend-as-a-service solution for storing off-chain user data. The Graph for indexing posts and diary entries on the social network contract.
By leveraging these integrations, CySpace delivers an intuitive and immersive social media experience that seamlessly blends Web2 familiarity with Web3 innovation.
CySpace redefines social media by focusing on meaningful connections rather than engagement metrics. Unlike traditional platforms that prioritize likes, comments, and shares, CySpace incentivizes users to deepen their relationships through interactive and rewarding experiences.
CySpace was built entirely during the BUIDLathon
