The problem CUSAT Connect solves

All students studying in an University, especially freshers, will be more aware about the opportunities available in the campus.

Students will be able to expand their connections, with very skilled and helpful people from their own campus or from other campus

We provide a platform to sell any items for Rent/Sell so that items such as Books, Engineering Equipments, Bikes, etc. can be reused by freshers or any other student studying in the University

We notify the students about the nearby events occurring related to their interest areas.

We also notify the alumini about the Internship opprotunities available in the top companies.

We have a map that pin points all nearby Hubspots in the University and also their live location for reference.

Challenges we ran into

We ran into multiple challenges. Some of them were:-

1. Making a one-to-one chat app between a student and a mentor. I usually made group chats which were much simpler, but this time I had to come up with a tricky but simple algorithm that made it one-to-one.

2. Uploading images into MongoDB was bit of a challenge.

3. Creating the 3D slider on ReactJS was probably the biggest challenge of them all. Even though it may sound simpler compared to the rest, it somehow caused so many problems.

4. Animation in the Login Page was something new and challenging, and also rewarding.

5. Last but not least, managing to complete more than 5 functions within 24 hours.
