The problem Cultura solves
Memes are widely shared and enjoyed, but their creators rarely get credit or compensation for their work. Cultura solves this by turning memes into licensed digital assets on the blockchain.
With Cultura, users can:
Generate AI-powered memes based on trending topics.
Mint & License their memes as NFTs with automated royalty tracking.
Earn Revenue when others use or remix their memes under set licensing terms.
This ensures fair monetization for meme creators while enabling new use cases like meme trading, AI-driven content curation, and fair content attribution.
Challenges we ran into
Safe Protocol Compatibility – We initially planned to use Safe for multi-sig transactions and ownership management. However, Story Protocol doesn’t support Safe directly, making it difficult to manage transactions. Solution: We explored alternative wallet strategies and direct EOA-based transactions while maintaining security.
Cross-Chain Deployment Issues – Sepolia and Story exist on different networks, making it challenging to bridge data and transactions. Solution: We redesigned our architecture to handle licensing and NFT registration within Story while keeping external execution on Sepolia.
Optimizing AI Image Generation – Ensuring DALL·E creates high-quality, meme-worthy images with only a short user-provided topic. Solution: We refined the prompt to enforce humor, visual appeal, and meme-specific styling.
Automating License Enforcement – Ensuring that meme usage adheres to set terms and royalties flow correctly. Solution: We implemented Story Protocol’s Licensing and Royalty Modules for automated compliance.
