Simplify crypto transaction for the every day African by converting phone numbers to blockchain address.
The problem CryptoMomo solves
The hurdles for mass adoption of crypto in Africa includes 1) setup complexicity, 2) fruad and scams, 3) internet accessiblity, 4) mystery around crypto. Our project seeks to resolve these problems by employing technology that users already familiar with such as ussd in fintech.
Our platform converts users' phone number to blockchain wallet. This means once you have a phone number, you have access to the blockchian. This reduces setup complexity and makes crypto self setup thereby reduce learning curve, and crypto setup fraud.
We also employ ussd first architecture - just like fintech solution in Africa. As we use tech that our users are already familiar with it reduces the mystereous nature of crypto, and also promotes rural-urban reach in the face of limited and unrealiable internet accessibility.
Challenges I ran into
Working with paymaster and bundler with permissionless js was a little tricky. I think this is due to the different factory address supported by permissionless and that used by smart wallet on the github page.
This caused a difference in the smart wallet address generated with privatekeyToSimpleAccount method in permissionlessjs and the address created with the coinbaseWalletFactory at 0x0BA5ED0c6AA8c49038F819E587E2633c4A9F428a.
I resolved it by reverting to factoryAddress used with permissionjs.
