Why are you participating for Based Africa?

I am participating in Based Africa to leverage the innovative potential of blockchain technology to address financial barriers faced by individuals in Benin City and beyond. My personal connection to the region drives my commitment to fostering local entrepreneurship and creativity. I believe that with the right support and resources, anyone can transform their dreams into reality, regardless of their background or financial circumstances.

What challenges are you focusing on?

The primary challenges I am addressing include:

• Limited Access to Financial Services: Many aspiring entrepreneurs in Benin City, struggle to secure loans due to insufficient collateral and credit history.

• Bureaucratic Processes: Traditional crowdfunding platforms often involve lengthy approval processes that hinder timely access to funds.

• High Fees and Lack of Transparency: Existing platforms impose high processing fees and hidden costs that can discourage potential backers and project creators.

How does your submission address this challenge?

Crawdify is designed to eliminate the barriers associated with traditional crowdfunding platforms by:

• Providing a decentralized platform where anyone can launch a campaign without approval delays.
• Utilizing blockchain technology to ensure transparency, security, and immutability of transactions.
• Removing intermediaries to reduce costs and provide a more accessible funding mechanism.
• Allowing users to transfer funds directly to their wallets, ensuring quick access to capital.

This approach not only empowers individuals but also fosters a supportive community that encourages creativity and innovation.

Challenges we ran into

Technical Challenges: Integrating blockchain technology with user-friendly interfaces proved complex. We addressed this by conducting thorough research on the technologies used (Onchainkit, Smart Wallet) and collaborating with developers experienced in blockchain to streamline the integration process.

Additional Features

During the Buildathon, we enhanced Crawdify by:

• Writing tests for Crawdify's contract.
• Deploying the contract on the Base Sepolia network.
• Implementing a user-friendly interface that simplifies the crowdfunding process.
