CrimsonLychee improves the mood of the user. Most of us have bad days and are let down, the app provides the user with great content that elates the mood of the user.
The app presents the user with quotes, posts and YouTube videos that cheer up the user if they were having a bad day. This app also keeps track of the mood of the user over time and connects the user with suitable mental health professionals if their mood is off consistently over a long duration.
The emotion of the user is recognized by scanning the face of the user.
Users will find this app very useful in bringing a smile back on their face if they are let down by negative emotions.
Implementing the facial recognition algorithm that predicts emotion was a great challenge in the Android platform. We initially tried using TensorFlow Lite which unfortunately caused a few issues with Android NDK because of which we had to start all over again.
We then decided to use Affectiva and we were successful in implementing it to a certain extent.
This was the first hackathon for 2 of the team members of team Fruit Salad because of which we had a few issues.
In the end, we completed our proposed project to an appreciable extent and are happy with the results.
