A solution to predict, forecast and understand crime visualizations using data and machine learning techniques, with the goal of enhancing public safety and crime prevention efforts.
The problem CrimeWatch solves
1)Helping law enforcement agencies allocate resources more effectively by identifying areas that are at high risk for crime with the map analysis that we have provided.
2)Assisting the public in making informed decisions about personal safety by providing insights about the crimes.
3)Providing valuable information to policymakers and community leaders to help them develop effective crime prevention strategies.
4)Potential to make a significant impact on public safety by helping to identify and mitigate potential crime hot spots, and by providing valuable insights that can inform the development of effective crime prevention strategies.
Challenges we ran into
1)We had some difficulties in integrating the graphs made in plotly with the flask app. We resolved this issue by following the documentation and debugging.
2)Another bug which we have resolved was increasing the accuracy of ML model by GridSearchCV.
- We also faced some challenges in making our web application responsive which was resolved through media queries.
