The problem CrimeStat solves

We made our website a lot user-friendly with written analysis as well, which makes it easy to understand for a layman. By moving the cursor on different graphs it automatically shows the respective analysis. With a perfect year versus number of cases graph, one can make conclusion accordingly without any hectic research on different websites. We took our data form government’s website so questioning its integrity is just point less. We tried to solve as many problem as possible which will be faced by a normal person while visiting any crime statistical website.

Challenges we ran into

While working on the project, the major challenge we faced was of data integration, crime data can come from multiple sources, such as different law enforcement agencies or governmental bodies. Integrating and standardizing data from these sources can be complex, as it may require dealing with different data formats, structures, and systems. So we took our data from government’s website i.e., NCRB ( National Crime Research Bureau). We didn’t took all the data, we categorized it according to our four category and then used it.
Beside this, all the other challenges were just minor, like we wanted our graphs to be not boring so we added bit blood strain effects in it. And like this we made it user -friendly and visually appealing also.
