Relax. Wait. Pudding.

The problem Cozy Block solves

DeFi is stressful. Users are constantly checking charts, worrying about liquidation, and navigating complex interfaces that look like spaceship cockpits. "HODLing" is financially rewarding but emotionally taxing.

Solution: Cozy Block, Cozy Block reimagines the DeFi experience by turning "passive investing" into "active relaxation." Instead of staring at a chart, users deposit assets into Thetanuts Finance strategies (like Covered Calls or Put Selling) and are rewarded with a calming, Tamagotchi-style "Wait to Earn" experience.

  • Simplification: We strip away the complex dashboards and replace them with a simple choice: "Pick a Strategy, Wear a Cozy Outfit, and Wait."
  • Gamification: The "Concept of Time" becomes a gameplay mechanic. The longer you keep your assets in the strategy (the longer you wait), the more "Flowers" and "IDRX" (Stablecoin) you earn, incentivizing long-term holding.
  • Onchain UX: Leveraging Base L2 and OnchainKit, we provide a polished identity verification system while maintaining flexibility for any wallet (MetaMask for this demo) that the user prefers.

Recent Refinements (Post-Feedback)

Based on midpoint feedback, I've enhanced the trust and educational value:

  1. Visual Risk Communication: Added a "Cozy Meter" that maps strategy risk to a warmth scale (☁️ Extra Cozy → 🔥 Warm → ⚡ Spicy Hot). Risk is now visible but gentle—no intimidating red warnings, just honest, friendly indicators.

  2. Clear Gameplay vs. Real Yield Distinction: Added disclaimers clarifying that Flowers reward patience (cosmetic), while real returns come from vault strategies. This prevents confusion and builds user trust.

  3. Developer Documentation: Created a reusable "Hybrid Wallet Pattern" guide showing how to combine MetaMask compatibility with OnchainKit's premium UI - addressing a common pain point for Base builders facing regional wallet constraints.

Challenges I ran into

  1. Balancing "Cozy" with "Crypto"
Abstracting complex option vaults (Thetanuts) into a UI that feels like a casual game was difficult. I didn't want to hide the risk, but wanted to hide the noise.

Solution: So I tried to simplify it as much as possible and created a "Strategy Selector" that maps complex financial instruments to simple moods (e.g., "Safe & Warm" for Covered Calls).

  1. Onchain UX with Wallet Flexibility

So the challenge wanted to use OnchainKit's beautiful UI components but needed to support users who prefer MetaMask or other injected wallets over simple smart wallets (Coinbase isnt exactly legal in Indonesia).

Solution: I just built a hybrid wallet wrapper that uses Wagmi's injected connector for compatibility but wraps the connected state in OnchainKit's <Identity> components (Avatar, Name, ENS resolution). This gives us the best of both worlds: the reliability of MetaMask and the premium "Base-native" look of OnchainKit.

  1. Making Risk Feel Safe Without Hiding It

After initial feedback, I realized risk levels displayed as plain text ("Low/Medium/High Risk") weren't resonating emotionally. Users need to understand risk without feeling alarmed.

Solution: Created the "Cozy Meter", a visual warmth scale that honestly communicates risk through relatable metaphors (cozy blanket vs. spicy heat). Combined with clear disclaimers separating cosmetic rewards from financial returns, users now have informed transparency without anxiety.
