Helping everyone with small steps.
The problem Covid Dashboard solves
The purpose of this project is to help people during this pandemic in any small way we can.
People are isolated at their homes and electronic devices are the only they have got which are helping us get through it. It helps users in completing some of their day-to-day tasks with help of this application.
With the help of this android application, people can get live count of covid infections, locate grocery stores around their location, get news regarding covid from around the world and can also get regular handwash reminders once set up.
Challenges I ran into
Following were the challenges I ran into :
- The most difficult thing was getting it done in 36 hours. I had to do everthing by myself, from designing the layouts to coding the app. But, its was so fun that I ended up creating this app well-within the time limits.
- I had decided on 4 modules, but i could only complete 3 modules and a part of 4th module because of time limits.
- I had to get the user's location, but, I haven't worked with location services before so it took me some time before I was able to get user's location and use it in my app. YouTube and Stack Overflow came to the rescue during this.
Overall, It was great fun and I would like to do it again.
