CONVO
One app. Zero empty trips
The problem CONVO solves
The Problem It Solves
India’s logistics industry faces a huge inefficiency known as the empty return trip problem —
when trucks carry goods from Point A to Point B, they often return empty because there’s no easy way to find loads for the return journey. This create multiple problems which are as follows-:
• the truck owner loses money,
• fuel and time get wasted,
• shippers have to pay higher transport prices,
• and overall the whole process becomes inefficient.
This problem is even bigger in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, where there is no easy system to connect shippers and truck owners.

What People Can Use CONVO For
My app CONVO connects truck owners and shippers in a simple and smart way.
• Truck owners can post their trips and return trips.
• Shippers can search for available trucks based on their location, date, and load type.
• The app shows the best matches first, especially the return trips, so that trucks don’t have to come back empty.
This helps both sides save money and time.

How It Makes Things Easier
For truck owners:
• They get more trips and make more income.
• No need to roam around markets asking for loads.
• Everything can be done from the app itself.
For shippers:
• They get faster access to trucks, even in smaller cities.
• Prices are more affordable because return trips are cheaper.
• They can track the truck and have more transparency.
For the Environment:
• Reduces unnecessary fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions by optimizing logistics routes.
Overall:
It makes the entire transport process smoother, reduces wastage, and helps everyone involved work more efficiently.
Challenges we ran into
While building this project, my team definitely faced a few hurdles, especially because we are still learning development and exploring how real logistics systems work.
One of the biggest challenges was understanding how to manage return trips and match them with the right loads. At first, our logic was very basic, and it didn’t give accurate results. Sometimes the web showed nothing.
we solved this by breaking the problem down into smaller parts and improving the matching conditions step by step. Once we separated things like location, date, and vehicle type, the system started working more reliably.
Another challenge was figuring out how to structure the data properly. Truck details, load details, user types, and booking information all needed to be organised in a clean way. we had to redo our database structure twice, but that actually made my understanding much better.
Overall, every challenge helped us understand the flow of a real product much better. we are still improving the system, and trying to make a fully functional web app so that in future we can deploy it and run as my our startup.
Also the user persona and research is going on.
