This bot aims to make the life of competitive programmers easy. This bot helps in reminding programmers about programming contests held on various platforms like codechef, hackerearth and codeforces.
The problem ContestBot solves
ContestBot can do a variety of things related to online competitive programming contests and make the life of coders easy. Some of them are-
- Lookup contests on various websites and provide it to the user.
- Show time remaining for all the contests, listed platform-wise.
- Users can set reminders for any contest they wish to participate in.
Challenges we ran into
We didn't know anything about cronjobs, but we learnt celery from scratch. We tried to integrate NLP using DialogFlow with Zulip but there was no pre-built integration for normal bots (only with incoming webhooks) was available. So, we couldn't integrate DialogFlow for now and we plan to do that in the future. Also, this was the first time we used Zulip API, Selemium and BeautifulSoup. In a nutshell, we learnt a lot of new stuff.
