Now and then we see that we waste electrical energy by keeping appliances on. This accounts for total of 5% in energy loss. 49% of total carbon emissions are due to Energy sector. When calculated, this 5% of energy loss accounts for emission of 62 lakh tonnes of CO2 every year. And this is no where slowing.
To tackle with this problem we have developed an app which provides you with real time statistics on how much power is being consumed by different appliances and how much that costs you. This helps user know which appliances are using a lot of power and which of them are kept switched on and are leading to constant power drain. We also plan to launch a device which directly connects with the power supply and when the user is not around automatically cuts of the supply.
We plan this app to connect with any smart device by using a technology called 'IFTTT' which stands for 'If this than that'. This service helps us create applets and becomes a bridge between softwares/ devices. This helps us create such events that were not available on the software/app. Through this we plan to connect the smart devices to our app and control them. The data would be stored in mongoDB which will displayed as graphs in the app.
