Crypto, kept human.

The problem CommonWealth solves

Most crypto wallets today are built either for speculation or for experienced users. They assume users can manage irreversible transactions, volatile assets, and complex security decisions entirely on their own. One wrong transfer, one moment of emotional trading, or one compromised device can permanently damage a user’s finances.

At the same time, traditional financial apps provide guardrails like spending limits, approvals, transaction history, and alerts. But these protections disappear once users move on-chain. This creates a dangerous gap: users gain financial freedom, but lose financial safety and awareness.

Our project is built around a simple principle:
human first, machine follows.
Instead of letting automation take full control, we give users better tools to stay in control combining smart contract wallets, social approvals, financial tracking, and AI assistance to support responsible financial behavior on-chain.

Crypto Spending Without Safety Controls

On-chain wallets allow unlimited spending by default, and transactions cannot be reversed. If a wallet is compromised or a user overspends, there is no built-in protection mechanism. This makes everyday use of crypto risky, especially for users who want to treat their wallet as real money, not just investment capital.

We introduce wallet-level safety controls using smart contracts: daily spending limits, automatic wallet locking when limits are reached, and emergency approval through a trusted contact using a multi-signature mechanism. When users genuinely need to exceed their limits, they must request approval instead of bypassing security.

This keeps users in control while adding human-based safety checks. Instead of replacing responsibility with automation, we design the wallet to encourage intentional spending and social verification when risk is high.

No Financial Awareness Inside Wallets

Most wallets only show balances and transaction hashes. Users cannot easily understand where their money goes, how much they spend in different categories, or whether their habits are improving or getting worse over time.

Our wallet automatically records every balance change into an expense tracker and requires users to categorize transactions. This turns raw blockchain data into structured financial behavior that users can actually reflect on.

By bringing expense tracking and history directly into the wallet, users can treat their crypto finances like real personal finance, not just isolated transfers between addresses.

Investment Decisions Need Support, Not Full Automation

Many platforms attempt to solve retail trading losses by introducing fully autonomous AI trading bots. While these systems can work in controlled conditions, real markets are highly stochastic, regime-shifting, and driven by human behavior, news, and sudden liquidity changes. Building AI systems that can reliably adapt to this in real time is still extremely expensive and largely inaccessible to average users and even most companies.
image
Instead of pretending that AI can safely replace human judgment, we keep humans in the decision loop. Our AI provides market sentiment that can be cited to an actual article and visual explanations through charts and conversational interaction, but all trades are still explicitly confirmed by the user.
image
This design treats AI as a decision-support tool, not a financial authority. The goal is to help users understand risk before acting, not to outsource responsibility to a model that users cannot audit or control.

Challenges we ran into

In the multi-signature logic for emergency account unlocking, the system will send an email to emergency contacts for an approval request. Since emergency contacts use email (Web2), they cannot sign transactions directly.

Solution

The system relayer will be set as the emergency contact on the blockchain. When the server receives a valid approval click from an email, the relayer will sign and broadcast the transaction.
