Our project aims at making a college portal website that is user-friendly and easy for the students & faculty to navigate through without any difficulties with the use of HTML, CSS, JS & PHP.
The problem College Portal solves
Most college portals that we have come across during our academics have been quite rudimentary and leave much to be desired in terms of user experience and user interface. Since we encountered this sort of problem quite frequently, we have designed this web application keeping in mind to make it as user-friendly as possible while providing all the major functionalities in a general college portal.
Challenges we ran into
The major challenge we faced was deploying our website through any public server. Because our website was made using PHP, it couldn't be deployed using GitHub pages or common hosting websites such as Netlify. This problem persisted till the end of the completion of the project, forcing us to take a temporary measure.
Apart from these, we faced some minor issues that were caused due to loss of communication between ajax and the database in MySQL, however, these problems were rectified with some searches and scanning through documentation.
