The problem College Marketplace solves
College Marketplace – Empowering Students Through Smart Resource Sharing
Our project, College Marketplace, solves a common problem faced by college students — the waste of money and resources on temporary academic materials.
For example, a first-year student in Computer Science may buy a Mini Drafter for Engineering Graphics, or print EVS materials, which are useful only for a semester. These resources are later unused, leading to both financial and material wastage.
Our solution is a campus-specific marketplace where students can buy and sell educational items from their peers. After completing a course, a student can list their materials (e.g., mini drafter, printed notes), and juniors who need them can purchase directly through the platform.
This builds a peer-to-peer ecosystem that encourages sustainable practices and saves time and money—especially for hostellers.
The platform includes:
Auth via college email
Listing and filtering of items
User dashboards, product details, and a help section
Students connect, chat, and exchange items easily. This not only promotes reuse but also strengthens student community bonds. We’re building a sustainable and smarter way to share academic resources—campus-first.
