đź’ˇ AI-Assisted Dispute Resolution
Our most innovative feature. When a dispute occurs, an AI arbiter analyzes the project scope, submitted work, and chat history to provide a neutral, data-driven recommendation. This summary is then used by a human arbiter to make a final, fair decision, with funds and arbitration bonds automatically routed to the appropriate parties via a secure CDP Wallet.
Our most significant hurdle was designing our AI-Assisted Dispute Resolution to be truly atomic and trust-minimized. The challenge was orchestrating a seamless flow between off-chain payments with x402pay, AI analysis by our AgentKit agent, and the final on-chain settlement using a CDP Wallet.
Our initial design was a simple, sequential process, but we realized it was full of potential failures. What if one party paid their arbitration bond but the other didn't? How could we prevent race conditions? And how could we remove the need for a human arbiter to perform a series of manual, error-prone transactions to settle the dispute?
The solution was to elevate our AgentKit agent from a simple command processor to the central orchestrator of the entire dispute workflow.
Agent-Initiated Payments: Instead of relying on a frontend, the agent itself initiates the process. It generates two unique x402pay invoices and sends them directly to the creator and freelancer via chat.
Stateful Payment-Gating: The agent then listens for the payment confirmations for these specific invoices. It will not proceed to the next step—running the AI analysis—until it has confirmed that both bonds have been successfully paid. This completely removes the "stuck funds" problem.
Autonomous Settlement: Once both bonds are paid, the agent transfers the funds into a secure, programmatic CDP Wallet created specifically for the dispute. After a human arbiter makes a simple, final decision (e.g., "rule for freelancer"), they trigger a single function. The CDP Wallet, having been pre-programmed with the payout logic, then autonomously executes the entire complex settlement: routing the original milestone payment, refunding the winner's bond, and paying the arbiter's fee from the loser's bond.
By making our AgentKit agent the stateful orchestrator, we were able to use x402pay and CDP Wallet not as separate tools, but as integrated components of a single, robust, and autonomous financial workflow. This solved the atomicity problem and demonstrated a system where human decisions guide, but smart wallets and intelligent agents execute.
