CodeChain: Empowering developers to own, monetize, and showcase their code through secure, blockchain-backed NFTs.

The problem CodeChain solves

CodeChain solves the problem of ownership, monetization, and visibility for developers’ code. Traditionally, developers share their code on open platforms, where it’s challenging to prove authorship or earn revenue directly. CodeChain changes this by allowing developers to mint their code as NFTs, ensuring verifiable ownership, securing intellectual property, and creating new ways to monetize their work.

With CodeChain, developers can:

Prove Ownership: Minting code as NFTs provides blockchain-backed proof of authorship, helping developers protect their intellectual property.
Earn Revenue: Developers can set prices, offer licenses, or accept donations, making it easy to generate income from their code.
Build a Verified Portfolio: CodeChain users can showcase their NFT-minted assets, building a credible, blockchain-backed portfolio that attracts collaborators or potential employers.
By using CodeChain, developers can share their code in a way that’s safer, more transparent, and financially rewarding—all while maintaining control over their contributions.

Challenges we ran into

One of the biggest challenges we faced was our limited experience with blockchain technology and backend development. As beginners, diving into a complex project like CodeChain was both exciting and daunting. We initially struggled with understanding how blockchain works, particularly the technical details of smart contracts, decentralized storage, and NFT minting.

Additionally, building the backend was a major hurdle for us, as we’re still learning foundational concepts in server-side programming. To keep our progress moving, we decided to focus on developing the frontend and crafting a user-friendly interface to convey our vision effectively. We also reached out to mentors, who were invaluable in helping us structure our ideas and strategize for future development. With their guidance, we’ve been able to lay a solid foundation for CodeChain, and we’re excited to continue learning and expanding the technical aspects as we grow.
