Bridging Data and Community for Climate Resilience.
The problem Climabridge solves
ClimaBridge is an AI-powered disaster response and community resilience platform. It integrates real-time geospatial incident reporting with intelligent analysis tools to empower citizens, authorities, and emergency responders to collaboratively manage climate-related disasters such as floods, wildfires, and storms. With a powerful frontend built in React + Leaflet, a backend powered by Fluvio microservices, and AI integration for trend detection, it delivers critical insights at speed and scale.
Delayed Disaster Response: Many regions face slow incident reporting and poor coordination during emergencies.
Lack of Geospatial Awareness: No intuitive platform exists that maps live community-reported climate incidents with AI summaries.
Information Overload: During a disaster, responders are overwhelmed with scattered reports.
Disconnected Communities: Citizens lack a way to contribute effectively to climate emergency management.
ClimaBridge solves these by:
Allowing citizens to report climate incidents in real-time.
Using Fluvio streaming and AI summaries to detect trends.
Providing an intuitive map-based dashboard with overlays and live data.
Delivering insights to emergency responders and policy makers.
Challenges I ran into
Integrating real-time data streaming with Fluvio and mapping it on the frontend.
Managing state and error handling across async microservices.
Designing intuitive AI summary generation for incident reports.
Handling WebSocket-based live updates from Fluvio to React.
Ensuring smooth cross-origin communication between frontend, backend, and MongoDB.
Managing deployment across multiple services and ports.
