Clanni

Clanni is a platform that simplifies community management with a "DAO in a box" approach. Utilizing a social token-based system, it empowers your followers to vote on, acquire, and consume content.

The problem Clanni solves

Key Benefits

  1. Simplified Community Management: Clanni's "DAO in a box" approach streamlines the process of setting up and managing a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO), making it accessible to users with varying levels of technical expertise.

  2. Enhanced Engagement: By leveraging a social token-based system, Clanni allows your followers to actively participate in the decision-making process. Followers can vote on content, providing a more democratic and interactive experience.

  3. Monetization Opportunities: Followers can acquire your content using social tokens, creating new revenue streams and encouraging content creation.

  4. Security and Transparency: Built on blockchain technology, Clanni ensures that all transactions and voting processes are secure and transparent, fostering trust within your community.

  5. Decentralized Content Distribution: Clanni decentralizes the distribution of content, reducing the reliance on traditional platforms and providing more control to content creators.

Use Cases

  • Creators and Influencers: Engage your followers by allowing them to vote on and acquire exclusive content.
  • Communities and Clubs: Manage your community's activities and decisions through a decentralized voting system.
  • Startups and Projects: Utilize Clanni to manage and distribute project resources and content in a transparent and secure manner.

Clanni makes existing tasks easier by providing an all-in-one platform for community engagement, monetization, and decentralized management, enhancing both the user and creator experience.

Challenges I ran into

Challenges and Solutions

  1. Authentication Integration

    • Challenge: Integrating Thirdweb Auth with Prisma while maintaining a modern Next.js 14 architecture with server-side rendering proved difficult and costly.
    • Solution?: I realized the need for an open-source alternative inspired by Thirdweb that simplifies deployment. This future solution aims to make the integration process more straightforward and cost-effective that i will make in the future, also i love coinbase embedded wallet, but i had no time left for it.
  2. Solidity Development

    • Challenge: Solidity, the language for smart contracts, was outside my expertise, despite my background in strongly-typed languages like C++.
    • Solution: Leveraging my experience with C++, I took a methodical approach to learning Solidity, gradually overcoming the initial learning curve by focusing on its similarities and differences with languages I was already familiar with.
  3. Thirdweb Documentation and Compatibility

    • Challenge: Thirdweb's documentation was not comprehensive, and the platform struggled with compatibility outside of Node.js, particularly with runtimes like Bun.
    • Solution: Extensive experimentation and community support were key. I also considered potential adjustments and workarounds to ensure smooth operation sticking with good ol node.js.
  4. IPFS Integration

    • Challenge: Managing IPFS for NFT content in Clanni was complex.
    • Solution: I delved into IPFS documentation and tutorials, and engaged with the developer community to better understand best practices and optimize the integration process.
