Develop a Smart Traffic Management and Optimization System that utilizes data-driven insights, predictive analytics, and real-time monitoring to improve traffic flow, alleviate congestion, and enhance the overall transportation experience in urban areas. The system should integrate with existing infrastructure and provide actionable recommendations to traffic authorities for proactive decision-making and intervention.
Challenges we ran into
During the development of CitySync, our team encountered a significant challenge in devising an effective algorithm for collision detection, particularly in identifying both near and far side collisions within our traffic simulation. Creating a mechanism that could accurately predict and prevent these collisions, considering the dynamic nature of traffic flow and the diverse maneuvers of vehicles, proved to be a complex task. This hurdle required us to delve deeper into traffic flow dynamics and vehicle movement algorithms, pushing us to explore innovative solutions and optimize our simulation's accuracy and realism.
