CitySense
CitySense is a real-time smart monitoring system that brings visibility to the invisible problems of our cities—potholes, air pollution, waterlogging, and unhygienic zones.
The problem CitySense solves
Urban residents today lack access to real-time, street-level data on critical civic issues such as air pollution, potholes, flooded roads, and unhygienic areas. Existing systems either provide incomplete or large-area information, like city-wide AQI, which fails to reflect actual conditions at a specific location. This lack of hyperlocal awareness leads to increased accidents, poor health outcomes, and delayed civic response, making everyday urban life unsafe and unpredictable. There is an urgent need for a solution that brings precise, location-specific monitoring into the hands of both citizens and authorities
Challenges we ran into
The challenges we faced while building this was implementation of heatmaps through data obtained and connecting the Supabase DB with the hardware IoT device.
We jumped right into supabase documentation and Mapbox docs and after some brainstorming sessions, finally implemented it.
