DeFi Lending Protocol Powered by Chainlink

The problem Chromion solves

  1. Trustless Lending and Borrowing
Allows users to borrow DAI by depositing ETH as collateral, without relying on banks or centralized platforms.
Eliminates the need for credit checks or intermediaries.
  2. Real-Time, Tamper-Proof Pricing
Uses Chainlink Data Feeds to get accurate, real-time ETH/USD prices.
Prevents price manipulation and ensures fair collateral valuation.
  3. Automated Liquidations
Chainlink Automation monitors positions and automatically liquidates undercollateralized loans.
Protects the protocol and users from insolvency and bad debt.
  4. Provable Randomness and Incentives
Chainlink VRF provides verifiable randomness for airdrops, making rewards fair and transparent.
    Encourages user participation and engagement.
  5. Decentralized Credit Scoring
Integrates Chainlink Functions for off-chain credit scoring, enabling more nuanced risk assessment.
  6. Security and Transparency
No admin keys or upgradeable proxies—fully decentralized and open-source.
All actions are on-chain and auditable.

Challenges I ran into

  1. Smart Contract Security
Ensuring contracts are safe from reentrancy, overflow, and other common DeFi vulnerabilities.
Avoiding admin keys and upgradeable proxies to maximize decentralization and trust.
  2. Accurate Price Feeds
Integrating Chainlink Data Feeds correctly for real-time, tamper-proof pricing.
Handling edge cases when oracles are delayed or unavailable.
  3. Automated Liquidations
Designing and testing Chainlink Automation to reliably trigger liquidations without false positives or missed events.
Balancing user experience with protocol safety.
  4. Front-End/Wallet Integration
Handling wallet connection, network switching, and user onboarding smoothly.
Dealing with users on unsupported networks or with no funds.
  5. Testnet Deployment
Managing contract addresses and ABIs across different networks.
Ensuring the frontend always points to the correct deployed contracts.
  6. Randomness and Fairness
Integrating Chainlink VRF for provable randomness in airdrops.
Ensuring airdrop logic is fair and cannot be gamed.
  7. User Experience
Making the UI intuitive for both DeFi natives and newcomers.
Providing clear error messages and feedback for failed transactions or data fetches.
  8. Documentation and Judge Experience
Writing clear, detailed documentation so hackathon judges can understand, run, and evaluate the project easily.
