The problem Chores for Crypto solves
Parents can reward their children for chores and don't need to worry price volatility and manual calculations. It’s hard to know how much ETH equals a set dollar value and sending the wrong amount is easy.
Chores for Crypto solves this by letting parents enter a reward amount in USD while the smart contract uses Chainlink oracles to automatically convert that value to the correct amount of ETH in real time.
Challenges I ran into
One of the biggest challenges I faced was wanting to make the app work across different blockchains using cross-chain technology, like Chainlink CCIP. However, I quickly realized that cross-chain transfers and messaging are quite complex and would require more development time and team collaboration than I had as a solo beginner.
To keep the project achievable for the hackathon, I focused on building a solid single-chain solution using Chainlink price feeds on Sepolia. This allowed me to learn the fundamentals of Solidity and Chainlink without getting overwhelmed by advanced architecture. I’d love to explore cross-chain functionality in the future as my skills grow.
