The problem ChirpOn Base solves

ChirpOn is a free software that has been made available to the community in order to facilitate development and innovation in the Base blockchain. With it, the users can create their project updates and share them with others, find new projects and join them, and lastly get noticed in the whole Base ecosystem. ChirpOn the security is improved through the usage of the secure Base chain and the project is facilitated to the open source mode that will drive to the continuous improvement. Also, anyone who participates in the project can upgrade their NFT by using this method and get the benefits of the rewards that they will receive and become an active member.

RehumanizeChirpOn displays 25 posts on the Chirp feed, in this way, new content and projects can be discovered, users can share their Website & twitter links & include a photo on their post which is stored on IPFS.

Challenges we ran into

During the development of ChirpOn, we faced several significant challenges and bugs that required innovative solutions. Integrating various wallets like CoinBase and Metamask was complex due to their unique protocols. To resolve this, we used the Web3Modal Wagmi library, which simplified connections and provided a unified interface. Another issue was the bad word filter, which initially flagged legitimate chirps. We refined the filter using advanced text analysis techniques to reduce false positives.

Ensuring a responsive design across devices was also challenging, particularly for the instructions popup. We made the popup scrollable and used responsive width classes to improve the user experience on smaller screens. Duplicate addresses in the top chirpers list led to inaccurate leaderboard results. We implemented a filtering mechanism using the Set data structure to ensure the leader board displayed the top 5 chirpers.

Generating dynamic NFTs with evolving levels was complex due to the initial . We simplified the design by removing these patterns and focusing on a clean layout with a black background and centered text for the evolving metadata levelUp. Managing multiple popups during the chirping process was overwhelming for the team. We improved the popup flow by clearly communicating each step and ensuring sequential appearance with clear instructions. We also added a button at the top fo the page, how ChirpOn works.

Performance issues arose with handling large numbers of chirps and interactions, causing the application to slow down. We optimized backend processes, improved smart contract interactions, and implemented caching mechanisms to enhance responsiveness.

A issue arose with the emoji picker in the text input field. Once opened, the emoji picker couldn't be closed, leaving it stuck open until the user refreshed the page. To resolve this, we implemented button logic that listens for user interactions, allowing the emoji picker to be opend n closed.
