Why are you participating for Based LatAm?
I am participating in Based LatAm because I believe in the potential of blockchain technologies to create innovative gaming solutions. My goal is to draw attention to blockchain-based games in Latin America by offering a solution that can improve the experience for both users and developers in the region.
What challenges are you focusing on?
The main challenge I am addressing is the lack of accessible blockchain games in Latin America that allow users to truly own their in-game assets. Many games suffer from centralized control, and the use of blockchain helps solve this issue by providing transparency and decentralization.
How does your submission address this challenge?
BaseCheckers addresses this issue by creating an open platform where users can not only play checkers but also own their in-game assets in the form of NFTs. This creates a secure gaming environment where all actions, such as moves and wins, are recorded on the blockchain, ensuring transparency and fair play.
Challenges we ran into
The main challenges I faced were integrating smart contracts on the Base blockchain and developing the game logic in Python. Additionally, there was the challenge of optimizing the interaction with the blockchain to ensure minimal latency when updating the game state in real-time.
Additional Features
This project was started as a prototype before the Buildathon, but during the competition, new features were added: NFT integration for game pieces, interface optimization for mobile devices, and improved speed of interaction with the blockchain.
