A donor would be able to follow their donations all the way froma the donor to the beneficiary(charity) and beyond. This will restore the trust of the donors in charitable giving.
The problem Charity-Chain solves
The problem is that there is a lack of transparency in the transactions pertaining to donations and funds provided by the Government or other donors. The objective is to ensure the traceability of one’s donation, and keeps funds secure. This will help to redress the decline of public trust in charities and tap into donor demand for more information about their impact.
Challenges we ran into
We encountered problems in installing dependencies and packages in the Windows 10 OS and then had to switch to UBUNTU 16.04.05. Also there were errors like "ERROR : watch app/fonts ENOSPC" while executing the embark comands due to metamask interferance with embark and ipfs. We solved it by logging out of metamask. Alternative solution is the following command : "echo fs.inotify.max_user_watches=524288 | sudo tee -a /etc/sysctl.conf && sudo sysctl -p"
