The problem Charify solves
Problem Statement
- Accumulation of scam NFTs and tokens on Solana.
- Eliminating low-value or scam NFTs from circulation improves the overall ecosystem's quality. And concurrently, donate to charities through delegating voting power with $CRY tokens.
Solution
- Burning mechanism serves as a countermeasure against crypto hacks. Burning allows users to permanently destroy their scam tokens they receive to prevent wallet drains.
- Ultimately enhances security within the Solana ecosystem.
- Charity acts do not begin until someone initiates a movement.
- There are no certain ways to donate to charities on the chain atm. The current way involves big names on Crypto Twitter sharing links to urge the public to support the needy, through the timeline.
- When donators swarm in to outsource their money, it's usually due to someone posting it on the timeline(not common we see this). If someone were to posts it everyday, who's not going to get bored of it?
- There's no automated procedures for this important act that saves lives. With "donations" being inconsistent sentimental events, it's not ideal for charities in need out there for inflows.
- Making this a norm in the space while not putting in much but simply burning their tokens and voting for donations' general directions, is just a simple yet huge contribution to the needy's.
- Currently, Solana doesn't have a protocol that is tailored to charity acts.
Value Proposition
- Charify allows users to select the unwanted NFTs to burn. In return, users receive $CRY tokens that they can use for voting in governance.
- Holders have the right to vote for the charity they want to donate, as long as they hold $CRY.
Challenges we ran into
One challenge that we faced was deploying our smart contracts. As we were not well-versed with Solana, we encountered problems with smart contracts. The other issue was interacting with it to our frontend.
