Why are you participating for Based LatAm?

We’re participating in Based LatAm to showcase ChainRacer, our Ethereum-based car game that integrates with MetaMask for secure, decentralized gameplay. Latin America’s growing blockchain community presents an ideal opportunity to connect with innovators and expand into emerging markets. By participating, we aim to highlight our commitment to secure, blockchain-powered gaming, build partnerships, and drive adoption in a region that’s rapidly embracing decentralized technologies.

What challenges are you focusing on?

We’re focusing on challenges related to secure blockchain integration in gaming, ensuring seamless connectivity with MetaMask for player authentication and asset ownership. Additionally, we're addressing scalability for a smooth gaming experience on Ethereum, while minimizing gas fees and network delays. Another key challenge is educating players on blockchain technology and decentralized assets, making it easy for both crypto-savvy and non-crypto players to engage. Lastly, we’re exploring ways to build a strong community around fair, transparent gameplay in a decentralized environment.

How does your submission address this challenge?

Our submission, ChainRacer, addresses this challenge by:

  1. Blockchain Integration: Utilizing Ethereum smart contracts, we ensure transparency, immutability, and secure ownership of in-game assets, such as cars, upgrades, and rewards, making the game fully decentralized.

  2. Secure MetaMask Connectivity: By integrating MetaMask, we provide players with a secure and decentralized authentication method, allowing them to safely manage their wallets and interact with the game without needing a centralized server.

  3. Decentralized Asset Management: Using IPFS for asset storage, we ensure that game assets, data, and metadata are managed in a decentralized manner, ensuring security and availability across the network.

  4. Seamless Gameplay: By employing Web3.js or Ethers.js, we ensure smooth interaction between the front-end game and the Ethereum blockchain, enabling real-time transactions and interactions for users.

Challenges we ran into

Our submission, ChainRacer, addresses these challenges by integrating MetaMask for secure and decentralized player authentication, ensuring players own their in-game assets on the blockchain. To tackle scalability and gas fees, we utilize Ethereum’s layer-2 solutions or optimized contract structures, ensuring smooth gameplay without high transaction costs. We’ve simplified the onboarding process with an intuitive interface, making it easy for both blockchain experts and beginners to participate. Additionally, we’re fostering a community around fair play and transparency, leveraging blockchain’s immutability to ensure integrity in game outcomes and asset ownership.

Additional Features

ChainRacer includes several key features that enhance gameplay and user experience:

  1. Customizable Cars: Players can own and trade unique, customizable cars as NFTs, allowing them to personalize and upgrade their vehicles using blockchain-secured assets.

  2. Play-to-Earn (P2E): Players earn rewards in cryptocurrency for winning races and completing challenges, fostering a competitive and rewarding ecosystem.

  3. Decentralized Marketplace: Players can buy, sell, and trade cars, upgrades, and other in-game items directly through a blockchain-powered marketplace.

  4. Cross-Platform Play: Seamless gameplay across web and mobile, allowing players to race and manage assets from multiple devices.

  5. Provably Fair Racing: Leveraging smart contracts to ensure races are fair, with outcomes that are transparent and immutable on the blockchain.
