Chainblock - Eight Test NFT DAO

These NFTs will be tied to the DAO's capital reserves, organizational governance, claims to future cashflows, and verifiable chains of provenance.

The problem Chainblock - Eight Test NFT DAO solves

The goals of the DAO are to meet the needs of stakeholders within the blockchain ecosystem: end users, investors, and blockchain developers.

1. Endusers

Painpoints: Endusers may want to expand from DeFi and apply blockchain to use cases in other parts of their lives.

Solution for Endusers: This DAO enables them to directly commision, crowdfund, and support the applications they want built

2. Investors

Painpoints: Efficiently finding and investing in great software development teams with a track record of producing superior products with user stickiness.

Solution for Investors: We provide a vehicle to invest in teams of talented blockchain developers. Investors are also DAO owners and have a claim on all assets and profits generated by the DAO. This includes access to any future dividends and returns of capital

3. Developers

Painpoints: want to work on challenging projects they are passionate about. They also would like to be fairly compensated for their work and have upside in a project's success

Solution for Developers: Developers get salaries and milestone bonuses based on building applications that end-users want and within schedule. Developers are also eligible for ownership awards based team member and end user feedback.

Conclusion

This phase deliverable is a proof of concept for the Investor NFT. It can be minted on-demand by anyone wants to invest in a group of blockchain devs working together as a team. The next step is to include a payment splitter to send dividends to owners of the NFTs

Challenges I ran into

NFT JSON metadata and images are programmatically pinned to IPFS by the minter through an intermediary. IPFS CIDs cannot be read by most browsers, so Pinata was chosen to programmatically pin and manage images on IPFS.

Here are the IPFS CIDs for the image and JSON metadata:
ipfs://QmcF6fCS9KhRAMNZZQo127uD7T6ugTF9ahnKJHMVdL5hiG and ipfs://QmNQhgwK9CncchySHzypPUhFwPFuQPxAkhH3Z8D9ynpBUe'

Using Express on the backend was intitially challenging. It is unopinionated, thus obligating the developer to research and choose suitable plugins.

However, the biggest challenge was learning how the various DAO contracts (e.g., Governor, Timelock, and Minter) worked together for ensure proper governance.
