Southeast Asia inspired Cyberpunk Bounty Hunting MMORPG
The problem Chain Quadrant solves
"Most MMORPGs that are available in the market right now are usually using medieval fantasy theme or a generic sci-fi as their go-to setting and the overuse of such themes can make many Games in Web3 to be seen as generic and soulless, especially if they can't come up with something new or unique.
Not many games using Southeast Asian theme as its go-to theme and therefore, we want to incorporate SEA cities & culture elements so that the SEA gamer can be drawn to the game because the game offer something that they can relate into.
We noticed the potential of Southeast Asian market for the Web3 Market and it's no longer a secret that SEA gamers community are one of the most passionate gamers around and the promising SEA market has been known to draw many well-known game studios to target SEA gamers in the past couple of years now.
Asthaverse Studio believes the best way to bring them onboard is by creating a game where the gamer from SEA Web2 scene can be introduced to Web3 scene using a game as its onboarding media."
Challenges I ran into
"To create an MMORPG for Web3 environment is definitely not a simple task, besides the Web3 infrastructure that we have to implement, we are currently facing monetary issue in order to create many 3D game assets as we plan to make this new MMORPG to have a cyberpunk theme so it fits better with the ""technology"" or ""Web3"" nuance.
We are confident with the ""X&Jean"", MMORPG engine that we have developed in past 3,5 years and we believe that to implement all the basic tech features can be done swiftly as the programming groundwork is already laid out. However, to create many new art assets will be a major challenge that we need to tackle as our budget is still quite limited."
