The problem Chain of Events solves

In the current event management industry, issues like hidden fees, ticket fraud, and limited customization hinder both organizers and attendees. Chain of Events addresses these challenges by leveraging blockchain technology to ensure transparency, security, and enhanced attendee engagement. Our platform, built during the Base Onchain Summer Buildathon, introduces new features that allow event organizers to:
View Participant Lists: Organizers can now access detailed lists of attendees and the tickets they have utilized. This not only enhances security and control but also aids in recognizing and rewarding early supporters of events or artists.
Ticket Bundling: This feature allows organizers to package tickets or other consumables into custom-priced bundles, offering greater flexibility and potentially boosting sales through tailored deals.
These improvements make Chain of Events a bridge between traditional event management and a secure, transparent future, all while maintaining the familiarity of web2 interfaces and processes.

Challenges I ran into

Building Chain of Events wasn't without its hurdles. A significant challenge I faced during the Buildathon was the integration of the new participant list feature. The complexity of querying and displaying blockchain-stored data in a user-friendly way was a key obstacle, especially considering the decentralized nature of the data. To overcome this, I refined my smart contract to more efficiently index event and ticket data, and enhanced the frontend to query this data seamlessly.

Another hurdle was implementing the ticket bundling feature. The challenge was in designing smart contracts that could handle multiple ticket types and consumables in a single transaction without compromising on security or performance. I tackled this by using advanced ERC721 functionalities and optimizing transaction logic to ensure a smooth and secure purchasing experience.

Each challenge required a mix of technical ingenuity and a deep dive into blockchain's capabilities, pushing the boundaries of what's possible in event management.
