The problem Celo Proof of Ship solves
Celo Proof of Ship is a Web3-native credentialing system that allows developers to demonstrate their end-to-end contributions to a project. By integrating with GitHub, it verifies consistent code commits over time. Developers then showcase their progress by deploying smart contracts on both testnet and mainnet, ensuring their work is functional and publicly accessible. To amplify visibility, participants share their developments across decentralized social platforms like Farcaster.
Upon completing these steps, contributors can mint a Soulbound Token (SBT) with graphic stored on IPFS, serving as verifiable proof of their active participation for that month. This system fosters accountability, recognizes sustained effort, and builds reputation within the Celo ecosystem.

Challenges I ran into
It was initially difficult to get CELO and cUSD on the Alfajores testnet but the Celo team were very responsive and were quick to get us setup so we could proceed the implement the SAFE wallet payment (using cUSD) and Soulbound Token minting.
