Why are you participating for Based LatAm?

Mexico and LATAM are home to about 60% of the world's biodiversity! Unfortunately, nearly 30% of species here are threatened by habitat loss and environmental degradation. That’s why prioritizing restoration is crucial—not just to protect these unique ecosystems, but to support the local communities that depend on them.
But here's the catch: many of these initiatives struggle with funding. By integrating tech and circular economy principles, we can give these projects the boost they need, giving them acess to resources and talent to ensure they are successful.
Our platform is all about promoting environmental regeneration and digital inclution for the artist community in LATAM. With blockchain technology, we can enhance transparency and accountability in social and environmental projects, allowing everyone to track resource flows and see the impact of their contributions. This approach builds trust and encourages more investment in restoration efforts, helping both the planet and local communities thrive.

What challenges are you focusing on?

Our main focus is education, inclution and sustianability for the LATAM community. As the digital landscape evolves, it's essential to ensure that new users—particularly artists and NFT holders—can easily navigate thw wonders of blockchain. Simplifying the onboarding process is vital for attracting diverse talent, enriching the ecosystem, and driving innovation.

Education and empowerment of artists are equally important. Many creators may lack access to the necessary knowledge and resources to fully engage with blockchain technology. Prioritizing education unlocks their creative potential, enabling meaningful contributions to the digital economy. This empowerment creates a ripple effect that can uplift entire communities, driving cultural and economic growth.

Furthermore, focusing on regenerative beneficiary projects is essential for aligning blockchain initiatives with sustainable practices. Promoting projects that prioritize ecological restoration and social responsibility can lead to significant positive impacts on local ecosystems and communities. This alignment fosters a sense of purpose and accountability within the blockchain space.

How does your submission address this challenge?

Ceiba 3.0 mixes technology, art, nature, and the principles of a circular economy. Through our platform you are able to mint beautifull pieces of digital art, while 30% of the collected funds are gone to a restoration project in mexico, in this case "El cerro de la estrella". Our smart contract ensures transparency, veracity and traceability of the iniciative and sucess of the REGEN projects.

The main objective of the site and new user design is simplifying the onboarding process for new users. The platform offers intuitive navigation that lowers barriers and encourages engagement in the blockchain space, while providing essential resources for digital inclusion for artists, empowering them to unlock their creative potential. This educational approach demystifies the technical aspects of blockchain while inspiring artists to fully leverage NFTs, enabling them to thrive in a competitive digital landscape.

Transparency in funding is crucial for restoration projects, and Ceiba 3.0 ensures that all financial transactions are clear and accountable. This commitment builds trust among users, allowing artists and supporters to engage confidently in meaningful projects that drive real change. That is why we redesign the user experience for holders as well, so new members of the community can have their first mints in no time and complete confidence and trust for their donations.

We aim to transform blockchain landscape by merging technology, art, nature, and the circular economy, paving the way for a more sustainable future with CEIBA 3.0, the art revolution app for LATAM.

Challenges I ran into

We struggled with implementig walletconnect feature, that is why we decided to conect it directly with coinbase and metamask as an alternative. When we tested with some of our friends and artists, they told us the design was very outdated and the experience was very complicates, so we had to do a redesingn of the complete project at the middle of the hack, which clearly payed off as the new user experience and design is simpler and onboarding friendly.

Additional Features

When we first submitted the project for the summer buildathon, we only created the smart contract that does the automatic fund distribution when an art project is minted. Now during this hack we designed the user experience for artists, we have our first art collection with 25 art pieces from artists all over latin america that are all ready for minting, and the educational section for digital empowerment of the artist community. We also changed our design completetly and added more information of the restoration projects that will be supported by the colections in CEIBA 3.0. We already had two sessions of digital actualizations for artists and are looking to win this hackathon to fully implement our new design into our platform and add our second art collection.
