CC-Platform
Create, Connect, Own
Why are you participating for Based Africa?
We are participating in this buildathon to help build a decentralized content creation platform that empowers creators with true ownership and fair monetization. By developing this solution we are contributing to the base community and evolution of the creator economy while enhancing your skills and collaborating with others passionate about Web3. This project aligns with your mission to support decentralization and innovate in the rapidly growing Web3 space.
What challenges are you focusing on?
The main challenge in the content creation space is the centralized control imposed by traditional Web2 platforms. Creators struggle with limited ownership over their content, high monetization fees, and dependence on platform algorithms. These platforms also exploit user data without transparency, restricting the creator’s ability to fully benefit from their work. This leads to an unfair system where creators lose control and earnings are reduced.
How does your submission address this challenge?
The application leverages blockchain technology to give creators full ownership of their content and decentralized storage to secure intellectual property. Smart contracts enable direct, transparent payments, eliminating intermediaries and maximizing creator profits. The decentralized nature of the platform allows for authentic engagement with audiences, free from platform algorithms and censorship. Privacy is prioritized, ensuring secure and transparent use of creator data.
Challenges we ran into
Our biggest challenge was integrating blockchain technology into a seamless user experience was difficult due to its complexity, particularly in ensuring decentralized storage and secure smart contracts.
