CareQueue
Your turn. Right on time.
The problem CareQueue solves
The Problem CareQueue Helps With
For Patients
- Eliminates standing in crowded waiting rooms — wait where you want.
- Lowers anxiety by showing real-time progress & ETA.
- Reduces unnecessary travel/time away from work or family.
- Protects privacy — anonymous tokens let sensitive patients remain discreet.
For Receptionists & Staff
- Cuts repetitive status calls and manual queue updates.
- Simplifies triage decisions with an auditable token history.
- Frees staff time to focus on care rather than crowd control.
- Reduces errors from handwritten logs and misordered lists.
Challenges we ran into
Research challenges I ran into :
- Little academic evidence — Few papers on anonymous token queuing for small clinics, so sources were limited.
- No real clinic data — I couldn’t get wait-time datasets, so I used conservative estimates and ranges.
- Confusing terms — Different sources used different names for the same metrics (wait time, queue length).
- Privacy claims felt risky — I avoided legal promises and described design choices instead.
- Mixed audience needs — Needed both a simple pitch and a technical appendix.
- Mockups looked too finished — Labeled prototypes clearly so I didn’t overpromise features.
