The problem Carbon Cloud solves

Transportation accounts for a significant share of CO2 emissions, especially in car-centric communities. On average, public transport produces 95% less CO2 per passenger Kilometer than private vehicles.
We intend to raise awareness about the environmental impact of transportation choices and encourage the adoption of more eco-friendly alternatives.
We also consider Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), wherein we aim to promote sustainable practices for companies.

Our Solution - Carbon Cloud
Carbon Cloud is a platform to monitor your environmental impact by utilizing data from Google Maps.
A person can effortlessly upload their travel history to assess their carbon emissions.
Reflecting on their past trips encourages people to make more eco-friendly choices.
As a bonus, our platform recognizes environmental conscious users with blockchain minted NFTs through our leaderboard.
A person can earn Google Pay rewards in the form of vouchers, which can be redeemed after accumulating 1000 saved points.

Challenges we ran into

We faced integration issues with the unfamiliar unzip.js tech stack, which required problem-solving skills.
While utilizing Google Takeout for data extraction we were presented by challenges after getting it, that how we should proceed further.
For the metrics that what all should be showed on UI for leaderboard required multiple discussions.
Implementing the Mapbox GL JS for an interactive globe on the landing page, required debugging skills.
