Caramel

Mint and send private NFTs such as medical imaging on Flow Blockchain for licensed data consumers or recipients.

The problem Caramel solves

Data Accessibility, Globalization, and Security.

Limited access to diverse medical imaging data is impeding scientific research and academic exchange between developing and developed countries.

Ethical Considerations and the security of health data also serve as a big hindrance to many health researchers in the academic and model training field.

Our initiative, Caramel, is a desktop wrapper for a minting service that pushes private NFT collections on-chain, which can be decrypted only by the recipient's private key stored on a native keychain or local machine.

Our mission is to give every person of interest the chance to sell or contribute their unique datasets to global research efforts on drug development and healthcare advancements without compromising on ethics and data privacy.

Challenges I ran into

Joined the hackathon in the final weeks. The first time learning about flow, one of the first challenges was finding a way of integrating public-key cryptography on the elliptic curve used to generate key pairs for a Flow's non-custodial wallet identity. https://github.com/acgodson/caramel/blob/main/caramel_web/src/components/controllers/encryption.tsx
