The problem CampusVote solves

It’s been 2 years since college elections have been conducted due to the pandemic. Lack of proper online platforms and lack of trust in a conventional database based system with a third party seem to be the primary reasons.
The lack of proper student panels are affecting the functioning of student-college system.

This platform helps students vote for candidates for the campus elections online, even during lockdowns or other pandemic related conditions.
Help make the counting and result declaration faster, prevent fake votes and provide a transparent system, using blockchain and web technologies.

Challenges we ran into

The main challenge we ran into was to learn blockchain. Blockchain is a completely new topic and this is our first ever project with it.
Over the first several days of the hackathon, we spent time learning about blockchain and understanding the various best practices but couldn't start coding. As the deadline approached, we decided to code and learn along which caused a plethora of bugs and several noobie mistakes which we could finally tackle.
We owe a huge thanks to the several forums and discord servers that responded to our queries regarding bugs while developing on Polygon and Moralis.
