The problem Campus Sarthi solves
Campus-Sarthi addresses the challenges of inefficient admission predictions, faculty allocation, and resource management in educational institutions. It enables colleges to forecast student enrollments accurately, optimize faculty and classroom distribution, generate automated timetables, and streamline budget planning. By automating extra/replaced lecture scheduling, it reduces administrative workload and enhances decision-making through data-driven insights.
Challenges we ran into
One major challenge was achieving accurate admission predictions using regressor models due to inconsistent historical data. To overcome this, we implemented feature engineering techniques and fine-tuned our models for better performance. Another hurdle was optimizing timetable generation using a genetic algorithm, ensuring minimal conflicts and fair faculty distribution. Additionally, integrating the React-based front-end with our AI models required efficient API handling and real-time updates.
