Buidl
Connect, Learn & Build
The problem Buidl solves
The Problem
The Base documentation is complex and difficult for new builders to understand, creating a steep learning curve.
Even after launching their first mini app, builders lack a dedicated platform to showcase their work, gain visibility, connect with others, and attract funding based on community interest.
The Solution
Buidl streamlines the journey for Base builders: from learning to launching to funding.
We offer a gamified learning platform that helps newcomers learn, build, and deploy their first mini app quickly. Graduates (or any builders) can showcase their apps on Buidl, where community-driven engagement highlights top projects. Based on social traction and builder performance, builders can gain exposure, secure funding, and reward early supporters with project-backed token shares.
It provides four main features and each will be built in different phases:
-
Gamified learning
Builders earn XP and badges while mastering Base doc through interactive tutorials

-
Project showcase
Builders can submit and display their work with social engagement.

-
Builder network
Connects builders through profiles, discussion forums, events, and a matching system for finding collaborators or investors

- Social Funding
a. Builders submit apps and get funded by community based on social engagement, Builder Score and Neynar Score of the builder (Alpha Build). Funds will be released to the builder in milestones, approved by backers through social engagement.

b. Community members submit project ideas, receive funding based on engagement metrics, and builders compete to build these ideas with projects awarded to those with the highest trust scores and learning achievements.

Challenges we ran into
Current design challenge
The platform contains multiple parts. It's not easy to draft product requirements and build out all at once. We built a prototype to better help visualise what the platform looks like so we can refine our ideas. The platform will also be built in phases. Depending on traction, different components might eventually become a standalone product.
Current technical challenge
Base Account doc seems to only allow Base mainnet interaction with smart contract, makes it difficult to test in development environment. Reached out to Base Mini App support group and Base team devrel for support.]
Anticipated challenges
-
Design challenge
Attracting high-quality builders while keeping the bar accessible for newcomers is a balancing act -
Resources & admin challenge
Such platform requires content, liveOps and maintenance support. Once it's live, there will be operational work, at least initially. -
Market competition
There are several builder-focused and crowdfunding apps that already gained traction. It'll require additional marketing effort and better design to attract or convert users.

What is your product’s unique value proposition?
Buidl is the crowdfunding for Base Builders.
Buidl is a holistic platform that streamlines the entire Base builder journey by gamifying complex learning, providing a social showcase for projects, fostering a connected builder community, and enabling trustworthy, community-driven funding through milestone-based social engagement and tokenized rewards— empowering builders to learn, build, connect, and grow with confidence.
In alpha build, we particularly focus on demonstrating how Social Funding is allocated based on social engagement and builder social credibility.
Social Funding on Buidl transforms project financing into a community-powered, milestone-based system where backers and builders collaborate with real-time social metrics, reputation scores, and tokenized rewards to drive trustworthy innovation on Base.
Key values demonstrated in alpha build:
Project discovery & funding: Builders gain visibility by submitting and promoting their mini app prototypes, attracting backers’ interest and unlocking funding opportunities through community engagement.
Community-driven validation: Funding is allocated based on real-time social engagement, not just marketing or hype.
Additional values to be demonstrated in next milestone:
Builder social reputation: Reputation through builder score and social credibility (Neynar score) plays a central role in funding decisions.
Performance-based milestone payouts: Funds are unlocked progressively, with backers' vote, reducing risk for backers and motivating builders to deliver quality.
Tokenized supporter rewards: Early backers receive project-backed token shares tied to the success of the initiatives they help fund.
Dual pipeline: Both builders can submit launched apps for funding, and community members can propose ideas that top builders compete to execute.
Who is your target customer?
Target Users
-
Builders developing on Base, particularly those focused on Base App and Farcaster mini apps.
-
Backers and community members seeking engaging projects to support and invest in.
As an active mini app builder myself, I have firsthand experience of the challenges newcomers face in gaining visibility on platforms like Base App and Farcaster. Visibility often depends on either having backing from major players or building a strong personal profile— both of which are difficult for new builders. Consequently, many high-quality mini apps go unnoticed due to the disconnect between mini apps and the main social layer.
Backers are often in a passive role as a speculator without knowing credibility of the builder. So there's always hesitation in backing a project. With Buidl, backers will be able to support credible builders with funds released by milestones through community consensus. Risk for backers is dramatically reduced.
An example of builder having social support but low funding, possibly due to credibility and fund target set too high. https://farcaster.xyz/cryp2romz.eth/0x1b304bc5

Through research, conversations, and personal experience, we confirmed that builders struggle with discoverability, community engagement, and collaboration opportunities. Buidl helps builders and backers meet on the social layer, not only enhancing visibility and funding opportunities but also fostering meaningful collaborations between builders to accelerate innovation and growth.
Who are your closest competitors and how are you different?
Buidl’s competitive edge on Base lies in its seamless combination of:
-
Gamified learning to onboard builders faster
-
A social project showcase for increased visibility
-
A builder network to foster collaboration
-
Social Funding that ties engagement, reputation, and milestone payouts together.

What is your distribution strategy and why?
General proven distribution strategy
-
Featured Placement & Category Ranking
Achieving Top rankings in the Base App mini app category is a proven strategy for driving organic discovery and user growth. With previous projects like Wreck League Versus consistently ranked in the Top 1–5 for months, prominent placement translates directly to user attention and new engagement. -
Community-Driven Storytelling & Engagement
Sharing the ongoing building journey, success stories, and updates through both personal and project accounts is critical. Community interaction and authentic storytelling have driven 60–70% of discovery for past apps, through the social feed on Base App and Farcaster. Builders resonate with relatable, transparent communication, making consistent sharing essential. -
Support from Base Team & Influential Community Members
Leveraging endorsements, reposts, and partnerships with Base Team members and established builders/backers amplifies reach. Activities like AMAs, collaborative posts, and strategic partnerships foster trust and expand the network. -
Paid Social Marketing
Utilizing targeted social attention platforms (e.g., Inflynce, BRND, PromoLeague) further boosts visibility, accelerates user onboarding, and expands Buidl's audience beyond organic channels.
Buidl-specific strategy
-
Integrations
Integrating with existing developer and reputation tools e.g. Talent Protocol, Neynar, Inflynce creates entry points for new users, enhances visibility and credibility. An example from Wreck League Versus is that, after Inflynce integration, DAU and new users soared, more than 2,300 users joined during campaign. -
Builder & Backer Competitions
Organizing contests, and social funding challenges helps surface top talent and incentivizes early engagement on Buidl.
