The problem Bit Buddies : Breathe Easy solves
Air pollution poses a significant threat to human health and the environment. Our web application, Breathe Easy, addresses this by providing real-time Air Quality Index (AQI) data and recommending suitable tree species for planting. By doing so, it helps individuals and organizations make informed decisions to improve air quality in urban areas. Breathe Easy aims to mitigate the health risks associated with poor air quality and contribute to creating cleaner, healthier environments through sustainable actions like tree planting.
Challenges we ran into
During the development of Breathe Easy, one of the primary challenges we faced was ensuring the accuracy and reliability of the real-time AQI data. Integrating multiple APIs and handling data synchronization posed initial hurdles, requiring careful testing and debugging to achieve consistent performance. Additionally, optimizing the recommendation algorithm for tree species based on specific AQI levels and user preferences proved complex but crucial for delivering personalized suggestions effectively.
To overcome these challenges, we adopted a systematic approach of iterative testing, refining our algorithms based on feedback and extensive data validation. Collaborative problem-solving among team members and leveraging community forums for insights played a pivotal role in resolving technical hurdles efficiently. Ultimately, these efforts enabled us to deliver a robust and user-friendly solution in Breathe Easy, enhancing its functionality and reliability for users combating air pollution worldwide.
