The problem BookMyVac. solves

BookMyVac. , is a web-based platform to connect users directly with nearby hospitals and facilitate the process of scheduling an appointment with the hospital to get vaccinated.

Whenever the vaccine for novel coronavirus disease becomes public, it is going to be a massive challenge to distribute it among the huge population and at the same time avoid crowding of people at the medical centres.

Using our platform, the user has to fill a registration form providing necessary details which will be shared with the hospital. Then, the user can choose from available dates and time slots, make an online payment. Later, the user can visit the chosen hospital according to the scheduled appointment.

Why our platform?
1. Proper Management of Vaccine Distribution.
2. Database of all vaccinated people.
3. Reducing possible crowding at clinics/ hospitals when the vaccine becomes public.

On the admin side, proper database of users and hospitals will be maintained to track the progress and maintain the records of vaccine distribution easily and efficiently.
This data can be accessed by the concerned government authorities to monitor the progress of distribution and vaccination process in different parts of the country.

We believe the platform can help in uniform and easy distribution of the vaccine, not only in this COVID time but also managing any medical help that needs to reach the masses.

Challenges we ran into

Since our project requires a huge database of all the hospitals and users, it was initially a challenge to think of ideas to maintain and update the databases. For this, we can use any cloud-based platform. Currently, we have used dummy values to present the basic working of our project.
The project requires a solid back-end, implementing which was quite a challenge as it was a new concept and we had to learn and implement a lot of new concepts in a very limited period of time.
But all in all, it was great fun building this project together.
