Blue Social is here to change that. As a DePIN — GameFi — SocialFi mobile app, Blue Social makes meeting new people fun and easy.

In the “game” of life, your social connections are like your “team.” Social connections play a crucial role in our success and happiness. Just like in team sports, cooperation, strategy, and networking often lead to better outcomes than solo efforts.

Despite being more “connected” now than ever, social media and technological advancements have left us feeling more isolated. The US Surgeon General's 2023 Advisory highlights the severe health impacts of loneliness. Humans crave in-person interaction. But starting conversations can be tough due to fear of rejection, shyness, or feeling out of place.

Blue Social solves this problem by gamifying in-person social interactions. We're introducing the industry’s first Socialize-to-Earn™ gamified finance platform, aiming to onboard 1 billion+ users onchain over the coming decade.

Blue's Protocol introduces you to others in Bluetooth range up to 500ft away based on interests, keywords and other relevant social factors. You can earn tokens for being social IRL (LIVE), participate in social challenges (coming soon), unlock badges (coming soon), and can get paid by marketing retail partners advertising coupons with BLE beacons as you walk past their storefronts (coming soon). These earnings can serve as a form of universal basic income.

We also have plan to integrate ERC-6551 to turn profiles into unique self-sovereign identities addressing the challenges of centralization and privatization of personal online data.

Challenges we ran into

1. Web2 Native App Integration:
Our app is built with Swift, and we initially struggled integrating ThirdWeb hooks to call our contracts. We feared redesigning the entire app in React Native. Fortunately, we discovered we can develop RN components within our Swift app to create a bridge, avoiding a complete overhaul.

2. Coinbase Smart Wallet Integration:
Integrating the CBSW was challenging, there's no native app support. We had two options:

• A) Integrate Thirdweb's in-app wallet directly into our Native iOS app
• B) Build CBSW on web which requires users to jump between native & the web for wallet creation, making the process cumbersome

We chose Option A for a smoother UX

3. Proof-of-Interaction™ IRL Verification:
Required sending data securely from our Web2 db to contracts to prevent devs gaming the rewards contract. Initially, we considered using ChainLink Functions to send data securely but too costly. After discussions with Dustin & Eiman from Thirdweb, we decided to integrate Engine to communicate with our Web2 backend to verify a successful POI.

TestFlight + BLUE Base Sepolia Token = Exclusivity & Quality Testing

• We held off deploying on Mainnet. With 100k existing users on our web2 app, security is top priority before migrating users to BASE. Instead, we launched an exclusive iOS beta program, giving judges & 400 users access to the app on TestFlight running on Base Sepolia.
