The problem BloomFi solves

Decentralized Finance (DeFi) has transformed the way people approach investments, providing opportunities for higher returns and greater autonomy compared to traditional financial systems. However, for the average person, DeFi can be complex, intimidating, and difficult to navigate. The complexity of liquidity pools, the understanding of decentralized protocols, and the volatility of cryptocurrencies create barriers that make DeFi less accessible to the general public. BloomFi addresses these challenges by gamifying the DeFi experience, making it easier, safer, and more engaging for users.

Challenges we ran into

  1. Lack of Proper Liquidity Pool Data and APIs
    A major challenge was obtaining accurate and real-time liquidity pool data. We initially relied on APIs like Balancer and The Graph but found that they provided limited information and did not offer real-time updates or detailed metrics, such as ROI or token performance, necessary for our gamified experience.

To overcome this, we developed a custom Subgraph to query on-chain data directly. This allowed us to gather accurate, real-time liquidity pool information and create personalized recommendations, but it required significant backend development.

  1. Difficulty Implementing Huddle API
    Integrating Huddle01 AI for text-to-speech capabilities posed its own set of challenges. The API documentation was limited, and we faced difficulties understanding the integration process. Additionally, the real-time nature of the interactions introduced latency issues, which affected responsiveness.

To solve this, we optimized the backend to handle asynchronous requests and implemented fallback mechanisms to ensure smooth user interaction. Though it took time, we eventually integrated the API, allowing for real-time, personalized AI recommendations within the platform.
