Sensitive information is often controlled by third parties, leaving users with little control over their own data.

With BlockSafe, blockchain technology ensures a decentralized, transparent, and tamper-proof system where users have full ownership of their data. Smart contracts allow users to grant or revoke access securely, ensuring that only authorized parties can view their information. All access requests and transactions are immutably recorded on the blockchain, preventing manipulation and fraud. Additionally, encrypted data is stored securely using IPFS via Pinata, eliminating single points of failure.

Challenges I ran into

While building BlockSafe, I faced several challenges, including integrating IPFS for decentralized storage, ensuring secure access control using smart contracts, and optimizing blockchain transactions to reduce gas fees. Implementing authentication with Appwrite and handling wallet-based permissions were also complex but crucial for maintaining security and usability. Debugging smart contract interactions and ensuring a seamless user experience required extensive testing and iteration. Overcoming these challenges helped me gain a deeper understanding of blockchain development and decentralized applications.
