The problem BlockNet solves
BlockNet is a blockchain-powered social media platform designed to give users full ownership and control over their data. It addresses issues like data privacy, censorship, and unfair monetization. Users can share content, interact with others, and earn rewards through a transparent, decentralized system. BlockNet also uses blockchain's immutable ledger to verify content and manage reputations.
Challenges I ran into
One of the significant challenges was ensuring data integrity and security in a decentralized environment. We encountered bugs related to smart contract vulnerabilities and data synchronization issues. To overcome these, we conducted thorough smart contract audits and implemented robust cryptographic algorithms to secure user data. Additionally, maintaining high performance while managing decentralized content was a hurdle. We optimized our code, employed layer-2 scaling solutions, and used IPFS for efficient storage to address these performance issues. Continuous testing and community feedback were crucial in refining the platform.
