The problem BillBase solves
BillBase is designed to make bill management and payment easier and safer by providing several key features:
Consolidation: Users can manage all their bills in one place, reducing the hassle of dealing with multiple payment platforms.
Crypto Payments: Users can pay bills directly with cryptocurrency, which is faster and often cheaper than traditional methods.
Automation: Smart contracts automate recurring payments, ensuring users never miss a due date.
Security: Blockchain technology ensures all transactions are transparent, immutable, and secure, reducing the risk of fraud.
User-Friendly: A simple and intuitive interface makes it easy for users to manage their bills and payments.
Challenges I ran into
One significant hurdle we encountered was integrating the paymaster and bundler services to sponsor user transactions, which was crucial for handling gas fees. The challenge was to ensure that users could complete transactions without worrying about gas costs, which can fluctuate and add complexity. We overcame this by using the Paymaster Client, which allowed us to sponsor user operations seamlessly. Additionally, we implemented fallback mechanisms that resort to direct transactions if the sponsored transaction fails, ensuring reliability and a smooth user experience.
